TUF Modular Hex Terrain is a system designed to allow tabletop games to be taken to the next level. Take your flat 2D maps and elevate your gaming by adding a 3rd dimension with these easy to setup pieces.
The TUF System consists of the following pieces:
- Base Plates - The foundational component of the TUF Modular System
- Terrain Blocks - These add height to your tabletop games, and interlock with the base plates.
- Color Tiles - Add variation in color to your maps for endless configurations. These connect with both base plates and terrain blocks.
This Core Kit contains the following quantities of each component:
- 9x Base Plates (576 hexes)
- 52x Terrain Blocks (120 hexes)
- 4x Seven Hex Blocks
- 8x Three Hex Cluster Blocks
- 8x Three Hex Line Blocks
- 12x Double Hex Blocks
- 20x Single Hex Blocks
- 72x Color Tiles (138 hexes)
- 12x Triple Hex Line Tiles
- 12x Triple Hex Cluster Tiles
- 18x Double Hex Tiles
- 30x Single Hex Tiles
Color selection of the Core Kit will determine the color of Base Plates and Terrain Blocks. All Color Tiles within the core kit will include Green, Brown, and Blue. Additional Color Tile sets are available in expansion packs.
Additional Base Plates and Terrain Blocks are also available in expansion packs to customize your additional map-making needs.

The pieces have excellent tolerances, allowing them to securely lock into each other and the base plates.
I'm using this for my in person Lancer campaign, and it's great. I picked up the light brown, as alot of the campaign has been desert based so far. One of my players is piloting Barbarossa mech, with the ability to do huge amounts of damage to terrain and enemy mechs. When he fired his apocalypse railgun the first time, and I just removed and reconfigured a whole block of terrain, everyone at the table was amazed.
Got the core kit as well as a bunch of extras when we backed it on Kickstarter. We love the usage for our D&D games. Wish they had come out with the square set first but we're also backing that.
Very cusomizable with plenty of components to make fun, interactive maps. For added detail, using the cardboard terrain popouts with poster putty works well on the terrain kit.Very good addition to my collection.
Perfect for battletech
