System Reference: This product is part of the TUF32 system, which uses a 33mm hex grid.
TUF Modular Hex Terrain is a modular terrain system designed to build stable, repeatable battlefields for tactical tabletop games. The Core Kit gives you everything you need to take flat 2D maps and add meaningful elevation, structure, and terrain variation directly on a hex grid.
The system is designed for fast setup, consistent layouts, and flexible reconfiguration—so you can build, break down, and rebuild maps without shifting pieces or complicated stacking.
What’s Included in the TUF System
The TUF Modular System is built from three core components that work together:
-
Base Plates – The foundational hex grid that forms your map layout
-
Terrain Blocks – Interlocking elevation pieces that add height, cliffs, and structure
-
Color Tiles – Snap-in tiles used to represent terrain types, zones, or features
Each component connects securely to create stable maps that stay locked in place during play.

We are developing new deck building card game (Bellum Ultimum), that uses spatial combat on a hexgrid board. TUF32 is perfect this as it's a highly modular system, that has saturated components making it quick to determine terrain types. Quick to assemble and disassemble.
The pieces have excellent tolerances, allowing them to securely lock into each other and the base plates.
I'm using this for my in person Lancer campaign, and it's great. I picked up the light brown, as alot of the campaign has been desert based so far. One of my players is piloting Barbarossa mech, with the ability to do huge amounts of damage to terrain and enemy mechs. When he fired his apocalypse railgun the first time, and I just removed and reconfigured a whole block of terrain, everyone at the table was amazed.
Got the core kit as well as a bunch of extras when we backed it on Kickstarter. We love the usage for our D&D games. Wish they had come out with the square set first but we're also backing that.
Very cusomizable with plenty of components to make fun, interactive maps. For added detail, using the cardboard terrain popouts with poster putty works well on the terrain kit.Very good addition to my collection.
